Moses Nii Odartei

Moses is a Polyrhythmic, African master drummer who has toured extensively showcasing the intriguing traditional drums, dance and music of West Africa . Moses has had the privilage of entertaining the Queen Elizabeth the 2nd on her tour of Ghana and also president Bill Clinton.

MASTER DRUMMER, SELF EMPLOYED, WESTERN AUSTRALIA- CURRENT

Currently Moses is residing in Perth were he is a freelance artist.

MASTER DRUMMER/TUTOR, WORLD JUNGLE, ENGLAND, - 2006-2008

Moses was sponsored by ‘World Jungle’- a not for profit organization, to work in schools, community centers and corporate organizations as an artist and tutor. The purpose was to affect positive change in society through African music. Moses also performed through out England with African troup ‘Jenako’. They performed at WOMAD festival, Festival of Doris and many other venues.

MASTER DRUMMER/TUTOR, KUSUN ENSEMBLE, GHANA- 2002-2006

Moses joined ‘Kusun Ensemble’ a traditional cultural troup who toured and lived in England and America for extended periods. Here the group played many festivals and toured extensively. Moses was a tutor for a month of every year to foreign students who came to study music.

MASTER DRUMMER/MUSIC DIRECTOR, 12 TRIBES CULTURAL GROUP, GHANA-1999-2004

Moses was responsible for this band ensuring cultural correctness and that people worked as team. Moses co-ordinated costumes, venues, musicians, sponsors, and managers.

MASTER DRUMMER/TUTOR, AKUMAPA CULTURAL GROUP, GHANA- 1999-2002

Moses travelled with this group to Germany where they toured extensively playing traditional ghanaian music and tutoring European students in African music.
